Internatet was part of Gamleby Folkhögskola i Småland. Several young people came here to study and live together. Ida Larsson photographed their everyday lives. Her gentle images portray life in a secluded place and the yearning to belong. The book is published by Gamleby Press and designed by Ida Larsson and Nicolas Wormull, with text by Maria Larsson.
Ida Larsson is a Swedish photographer whose work explores self-documentary themes of belonging, intimacy, and vulnerability. Through gazes, bodies, and surroundings Ida tells a personal story as it continues to unfold.
Ida finished her photography studies in Sweden and is now advancing her practice through workshops, exhibitions, and travel, with her work exhibited in Europe and South America. Together with friends, she has furthermore founded an annual outdoors exhibition in Stockholm to encourage and promote fellow young photographers.
Inspired by her closest family, Ida seeks out new challenges across the globe, aiming to touch on something fundamentally human and share it, share her reality, through photobooks and solo exhibitions.
